Rich Eichenbaum

Attorney

Rich Eichenbaum is a Bay Area native who grew up in the South Bay. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from U.C. Berkeley in 1987 and a Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1991. During his undergraduate studies at Berkeley, Rich worked in the law library, where he was entrusted with caring for the rare books collection. He also worked at the front desk in the law library and assisted students with their research.

During his time at Santa Clara University, Rich took a job as a private investigator. Working as a P.I. gave him an opportunity to collaborate with attorneys and insurance companies on cases involving insurance claims investigations, criminal law, family law, fraud, surveillance, and even tracking down wayward witnesses and clients for bail bonds companies.

Rich passed the California Bar Exam in 1991 and worked for a small firm handling a variety of Civil matters in the areas of Insurance Defense, Construction Defect Litigation, Mechanic’s Liens, Business Disputes, Real Estate Disputes, Car Dealership/Consumer Disputes, and Personal Injury. In less than a year he began working as a Trial Attorney for a major insurance company, and was promoted to supervising and training other attorneys, including teaching trial school to insurance defense attorneys.

After 23 years working primarily on the insurance defense side, Rich joined a firm to help victims involved in catastrophic injury incidents and has continued to fight for justice for seriously injured individuals. He has handled personal injury law cases in a variety of areas, including motorcycle collisions, trucking collisions, automobile collisions, auto v. pedestrian collisions, bicycle collisions, premises liability, brain injuries, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, food poisoning, product liability, assaults, and slip/trip fall matters.

Rich has been practicing law since 1991, successfully representing clients in numerous jury trials, hundreds of settlement conferences, mediations, and arbitrations, and thousands of depositions. He enjoys spending time with family, including his four children. Rich enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and sightseeing, traveling, pouring wine on the weekend at a local winery, watching classic movies, and has been known to embarrass himself on karaoke night with a song or two.
